“1000 Hopes for Waco”: ARTPrenticeship Year 1

In August 2018, an ArtPrenticeship team of 10 high school students and four professional artists completed the program's first mural in Waco. ArtPrenticeship teaches young creatives the business skills necessary to thrive as an artist after finishing school, with tasks in planning, pitching and creating a full-scale mural.

That’s a Wrap!

To celebrate completing the 8-week program and the mural, Creative Waco and ARTPrenticeship host a Mural Wrap Party where the apprentices’ friends, families, and the program sponsors were able to view the finished mural.

Get Involved!

ARTPrenticeship included Community Paint Days as a new addition to 2019’s program. Community members spent the morning at the mural sites, met with the apprentices and the creative team, learned more about Creative Waco and the ARTPrenticeship program, and painted the mural under guidance from the apprentices.
